No Worries

No Worries Project

Our charity realises that epilepsy doesn't always affect a person physically, but mentally too. It is important to speak out about it, not feel ashamed or embarrassed and improve that wellbeing of yours.

The 'No Worries Project' is for all ages of people (toddlers to the elderly), to help improve their mental health and wellbeing via different support/tips/techniques.

In fact, some people with epilepsy find that stress and upset can be a trigger for their seizures.

This project supports those affected by epilepsy (including loved ones, friends or carers) and aims to reduce the need for professional, mental health help,

before it starts...

or in some cases,

worsens.

Challenge

Sadly, (as with many areas)  before we came along, Shropshire suffered hugely with the lack of epilepsy support. Speaking to many people in the county who are affected by epilepsy, the majority had mentioned that one of the most difficult things they found living with the condition, was trying to cope and understand changes to their mental health and emotions.
We want to ensure that all ages are able to receive support, quickly and without having to wait months for specialist help appointments.
It can be tough to try to provide mental health and wellbeing support for all ages, however, Shropshire Epilepsy Support has designed the 'No Worries Project' which ensures that all age groups are catered for and at no cost to yourselves.

Value

Thanks to the kind generosity of people who have donated and fundraised for us, we are able to provide this service free of charge.
We donate items like Worry Monsters to children and books (for all ages) to help relieve anxiety, stress and improve wellbeing and are in the middle of short videos about various advice and tips on this subject.
Don't forget that our family support meetings can help improve a persons wellbeing by reducing isolation, making friends, having fun and meeting others in similar situations.
Keep an eye out on how this project grows and improves! Importantly, please ask for help and contact us if you think you might like any of our items that we offer to those living in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
